Our Changing World – Paradigm Change Episode 1
A paradigm doesn’t change by itself. You have to change it. But where do you start?
PARADIGM SHIFT – HOW TO REPROGRAM YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS
Watch article as a video
Now I’m going to tell you something that you probably don’t want to hear: you were programmed. I was programmed. We were all programmed. Like an airplane on autopilot, we run the same programs over and over again. We have a script that we act on. We have a script that controls our habits. And almost every behaviour is based on habits.
When I heard about this concept for the first time, I thought: Such nonsense! I determine my actions myself, I make my own decisions. And yes, that’s also true. At least to a certain extent. But what are my decisions and my actions based on? The answer is: to my paradigms!
What is a paradigm?
To understand what paradigms are, we first have to understand how the human mind works. We all have a consciousness and a subconscious. To put it simply, our consciousness consists of our thoughts. We can create thoughts, we can accept and adopt thoughts from others, or we can reject them. We also have our five senses through which we perceive and interpret the world and through which we are stimulated.
Our subconscious mind, on the other hand, consists of our feelings and emotions. And our subconscious mind makes our bodies act. We don’t have to consciously think about putting one foot in front of the other when we leave. Our subconscious mind does that.
You can read here how exactly the subconscious works:
How your subconscious determines your life
How are paradigms shaped?
The subconscious is also the place where our paradigms are buried. As a baby, we have no consciousness yet, which means that our minds are very open because it consists of only one subconscious. We, therefore, record everything that our environment, other people and the media tell us unfiltered. We absorb everything without questioning it because we would need awareness.
During this time our paradigms, ie our “programs”, are also written and stored in our subconscious. Our paradigms control our beliefs, habits, perception, creativity, productivity, logic, effectiveness, self-image, and even our finances.
Our paradigms are our programs and the basis of almost everything we do. They determine our behaviour and our behaviour determines our results. But what if our paradigms keep us from doing what we really want to do? If that’s the case, there is only one answer: the only way to make your dreams come true is a paradigm shift! We have to reprogram our subconscious.
Reprogram the subconscious
1st decision
It all starts with a decision. We have to plant the first seeds so that they can grow. If we want to change our thinking patterns, if we want to rewrite our “programs”, we have to be 100% committed to it.
Without a will, we do not have enough stamina. And without staying power, we don’t stay consistent. And without consistency, we will see no results. So we should ask ourselves: how much do I want it? What is my “why”? What reason is strong enough to really pull it off?
2. Create new beliefs
To create new beliefs, we first have to find out what our current beliefs look like. (You can read about how to do this here ) If we have become aware of our negative beliefs, we can replace them with new positive ones. This is how we reprogram our neural networks.
I have introduced you to some techniques for this:
Update for your subconscious
4 beliefs that prevent you from being yourself
3 things you should say to your reflection every day
3. Strengthen mental muscles
We all have intellectual skills that we use far too little. Like muscles, these abilities weaken when we don’t use them. So we have to train them to make them stronger. These skills include, for example, our intuition, our imagination, our will, our perception and our memory.
We can control all of these skills with the conscious part of our mind and thus consciously train. The stronger these “mental muscles” become, the more positive they influence our paradigms.
Yes, we were all brainwashed, we were all affected. Nevertheless, it is only our decision whether we want to continue running our old programs or whether we are missing an update on our subconscious. As soon as we are aware that this is our responsibility, we have already taken a big step. We are not victims, we can choose again and again. And we can always choose to be free.
